Learn To Speak With Confidence

Our Exercises

Our method for your introduction to public speaking is to break it down into its constituent parts. For our
Initial Speaking Course there are nine of these parts and we learn about them and practice them one-by-one … we then put them all together for the ‘Certification Speeches’ that give you one of our certificates. We call these steps Exercises. We also have Education Speeches where an experienced member will share the skills and pitfalls needed to complete each one.

Every member proceeds though the exercises, each one being
Evaluated by an experienced member. This is all done in a friendly and non-destructive way and you can learn a lot from the wise counsels of the more experienced members. You will be told whether you are ready to move on to the next exercise in the club’s Guide to Public Speaking or whether you would be better having another try.
  • Basic Certificate of Achievement in Public SpeakingWhen you have successfully completed the first five exercises and the special Certification Speech you will be awarded the WSC Basic Certificate of Achievement.
  • Certificate of Achievement in Public SpeakingWhen you have successfully completed all ten exercises and the special Certification Speech you will be awarded the WSC Certificate of Achievement.
  • Advanced Certificate of Achievement in Public SpeakingWhen you have successfully achieved the Certificate of Achievement you can then go on to work towards the WSC Advanced Certificate of Achievement.
  • Leadership Certificate in Public SpeakingThis is an extra certificate that recognises a speaker’s continuing development in a leadership role.
